Denver Trail Runners is a FREE running group for people who like running trails in the Denver, Colorado area. Take a look at our "Trail Locator Map" in progress/started May 8, 2005. Each area in red is a "hot spot" linked to trail details.
Please read the June 7th newspaper story from the Denver Post about our group.
DTR meets every Thursday evening, year round, at the trails on the west side of town, mostly in the Morrison/Golden area. Over the winter, we may ocassionally do an urban, non-trail run, depending on weather/trail conditions.
There are periodic weekend outings throughout the year: long runs, often a little further afield; snowshoeing; carpooling to mountain races or Incline Club runs; or other events. Many of us also run with the Evergreen Runners Circle on Saturday mornings.
A free, weekly, e-newsletter with: weekly run locations, calendar of upcoming trail or snowshoe events, and other information.
All ages, experience and ability are welcome - REALLY! We have people from sub-6 to 12+min pace, and others who just walk the trails. Ages range from teens to 70+ years old. Some come out to train hard, others are there for more social reasons. There is almost always someone to run with. Great training for Pikes Peak, Imogene, Leadville and other trail/ultra races, building strength for road races and triathlons, meeting new training partners, or just having fun on the trails.
No dues, sign-ups, t-shirts, or whiners. Just show up and have fun.
